Description
CURRENT VACANCY: Leading Hand Therapist or Early Career Hand Therapist
We are looking for someone special to join our team and it might be you! We pay above award rates, don't talk about billable hours - no long reports to be completed - just good fun hands on therapy.
About this position
We are on the search for someone pretty amazing. We are looking for someone who is hard working, a delight to be around, and someone who is friendly and honest.
Riverina Hand Therapy has been part of the Wagga Wagga community for nearly 20 years. We’ve grown, changed, learned a lot — and now we’re stepping into a new chapter, with space for one or two therapists to grow alongside us.
We’re looking for an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist who’s curious about hand and upper limb therapy... whether you already love this space or you’re ready to deepen your skills with the right mentoring and support.
This role is for someone who wants to stay, not just pass through... in a clinic where people are known, learning is valued, and good work is done with care.
This position is suited to you if you’re available to work full time. We will consider part time for the right person, so still apply if you think you would be a great option for us. Throw your hat in the ring - you never know! Tell us what flexibility you need and we'll see if we can make it work.
This position would be a great match for you if:
- You’re interested in building a career in hand and upper limb therapy
- You care deeply about client outcomes and love seeing people return to the activities they value
- You enjoy problem-solving and thoughtful assessments
- Splinting is your jam — or you’re excited to become confident and creative with it
- You enjoy welcoming clients with warmth and care
- You like being part of a team and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves when needed
- You value efficiency and take initiative when you see something that could be done better
- You value yourself and others — you’re kind, honest, humble, and respectful
We promise a workplace that will challenge and stretch you as well as care and support you. We are a determined and driven team but we don't take ourselves too serious. We value career growth, and will make sure you have opportunities in the future to spread your wings within our workplace.
What you’ll love about working with us
- Free and wide-ranging training opportunities, plus a yearly PD allowance
- Regular internal in-services and mentoring to support your clinical development
- Opportunities to be involved in research, teaching, or developing new services
- Strong support from our friendly and capable administration team
- Flexible working arrangements to suit your lifestyle
- Our Team Happiness Program — because enjoying work really matters to us
- Quarterly Growth Check-ins so your goals and voice are heard
- The chance to be part of something meaningful — helping people recover and supporting a clinic that’s been part of the community for decades
How to apply:
Take a leap! Give it a go. If the above sings to you – take a brave step forward and get your application in to us!
To apply, there are two things you need to do.
Send an email to Abbey Grant (our amazing business manager) and attach a cover letter telling us why you would love to be part of the Riverina Hand Therapy team in this role, and an updated copy of your resume. Send your application to abbey@riverinahandtherapy.com.au
If you have questions, please also reach out and ask away.
Once we receive your application, we will be in contact with you.
Applications close at 5pm Friday 27 February (No time to over think it - get your application in if you are keen! We will be contacting people as they apply).
Requirements
We are looking for either a leading therapist (someone who has been in hand therapy before) OR someone who wants to get started in hand therapy. We are happy to provide the training.
Your experience might look like…
- A therapist with experience in hand and upper limb therapy, looking to deepen your skills
- A new graduate, or a therapist newer to hand therapy, who’s motivated to learn and wants strong mentoring
- Someone who’s completed a placement or additional courses in hand therapy and is waiting for the right opportunity
- A therapist returning to work or shifting direction in your career
What matters most to us is curiosity, care, and a genuine interest in hand therapy. We’re not looking for a “perfect” therapist — we’re looking for someone who wants to keep growing.
